What employers in India look for
A TEFL qualification is a professional credential, not a licence. Teaching in government schools needs the regulated route (B.Ed. plus CTET or a state TET), but private schools, language institutes, corporate training and online platforms set their own requirements, and many ask for a 120-hour TEFL or TESOL certificate. Teaching abroad later usually also needs a bachelor's degree.
Requirements change. Treat this as general guidance (October 2026) and confirm with your employer or the relevant authority.
